Biography: Joan Axelroth is the founder and President of Axelroth & Associates, a library and information management consulting firm serving clients nationwide. Joan helps businesses of all types and sizes to align their libraries and information centers with the goals of the company. She works closely with stakeholders and library staff to ensure that they are in the best position to anticipate and respond to our rapidly changing world. Recommendations address the organizational structure, staffing, products and services, financial management, use of space and the systems and technology necessary to support the operation. Joan relies on her experience as a practicing librarian and, since 1987, as a consultant to law firms, corporations, and trade and professional organizations. Joan speaks and writes frequently on a variety of strategic planning and management topics. She earned an M.A. in library science from theUniversity of Chicago and is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries and the Special Libraries Association.
