Biography: Hildebrandt Baker Robbins is the world’s largest provider of management consulting services to law firms and corporate law departments. Jim Jones joined the company in 2001, after more than 30 years as a practicing lawyer, a law firm leader, and a general counsel. Mr. Jones practiced law for 25 years with the Washington-based firm of Arnold & Porter and served as Managing Partner from 1986 through 1995. In 1995, Mr. Jones left Arnold & Porter to become Vice Chairman and General Counsel of APCO Worldwide, a global public affairs and government relations firm. Mr. Jones serves as Chairman of The Hildebrandt Institute, which provides executive education and training programs. He is the author of numerous books and articles on legal management topics, including ancillary business, globalization, ethics, strategy, and partnership issues, and he is also a frequent speaker on these subjects. Mr. Jones is also Co-Faculty Director for the Master of Professional Studies in Law Firm Management program at the College of Professional Studies at The George Washington University. Mr. Jones has, for the past 15 years, served as Chair of the Pro Bono Institute, based inWashington. He has been an active member of the District of Columbia Bar and holds that Bar’s Frederick Abramson Award for Pro Bono Service. Mr. Jones is a 1967 graduate of Trinity Universityand a 1970 graduate of the New York University School of Law.
