PLL-Summit IV: SOS: Shaping Our Success
Saturday, July 13, 2013, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers (Headquarters hotel)
1400 6th Ave, Seattle, WA

The PLL Summit, now in its fourth year, continues as a vehicle for examining the impact and opportunities presented by change.  Last year, we looked at changes in the business and practice of law and envisioned what those changes mean for the future.  This year, we explore how to take charge, shaping ourselves as well as the services we provide to meet these new world demands.

The day starts with a keynote address graciously sponsored by Thomson Reuters.  Bruce MacEwen, more popularly known as Adam Smith, Esq., grabbed the attention of law firm leaders in 2012 with his “Growth is Dead” series, which was recently published as a book.

The morning continues with a panel discussion addressing librarian roles:  how do we identify, adopt and promote the roles that add value to our organizations?

Lunch, sponsored by Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, will provide time for networking and insights into the legal market from the very special and no doubt humorous perspective of David Lat, Managing Editor, Above The Law.

In the afternoon, interactive break-out sessions will investigate the practical aspects of social media, the art of branding and the user experience.  The sessions will be repeated twice so that each participant can benefit from two out of the three programs.

In order to provide access to a wide audience, we have secured a venue that can accommodate up to 300 attendees. We encourage members to register early so they can be a part of this invaluable one-day conference.  The registration cost is $199.

Can someone please tell me WHERE the cost of registration can be found? And you might want to correct the date at the top of this page.

Shouldn’t there be a rather large and obvious button on the opening screen of the PLL website to make it easy to find details about the Summit?

I found on the AALL registration link that the Summit is listed under Pre-Conference Workshops, and the price is $199.

      Lynn,

Thank-you for your comments. We will correct the date on the main summit page. The cost of the registration is found on the AALL Annual meeting registration form. Cost is $199. I will suggest that a button be placed on the PLL site that will link to this summit page.

      Thank-you,

      Cheryl

There’s a link on the PLL home page under “Announcements” and another link on the Education page under PLL Summit. Let us know if there are other pages that could use a link. Thanks.

Will there be an opening reception/dinner for attendees on Friday night? Will make a difference in scheduling flights.
